The AI Chat
Chat is the heart of Veru365. You don't fill out forms and then get a report — you talk, and the assistant works your financial tools with you, live in the conversation.
Choose your assistant
The home screen presents the AI assistants your organization has enabled. Pick the one that matches what you're doing — you can switch any time, and each keeps its own conversation style:
Freddy
General financial planning: budgets, retirement, savings goals, net worth, insurance questions, “can I afford this?” Freddy is the assistant most firms lead with.
Harvey the Hedgehog
Stocks and portfolios. Harvey backs the Stock Analyst tool and speaks fluent ticker — ask for “Harvey's Take” on any company.
Anna
A planning assistant designed around women investors' priorities, with the same tools as Freddy behind her.
When you select an assistant for the first time, a short audio introduction plays so you know who you're talking to.
Your first conversation
- Pick an assistant Click a persona card on the home screen. A new conversation opens.
- Use a starter or just type Starter prompts suggest good first questions; or type anything — “Help me figure out if I'm saving enough for retirement.”
- Answer follow-ups The assistant asks clarifying questions and starts building your financial picture as you answer.
- Let it open tools When the conversation needs structured data — income, assets, a budget — the assistant opens the matching tool as a panel right inside the chat and can pre-fill it from what you've said.
What can you ask?
- Planning: “Am I on track to retire at 65?” · “How much house can I afford?” · “Build me a monthly budget.”
- Your data: “What's my net worth?” · “What did my spending look like?” · “Update my income to $150k.”
- Markets & stocks (Harvey): “What's your take on AAPL?” · “Show me this week's earnings setups.” · “Any notable insider buying lately?”
- Documents: “I uploaded my mortgage statement — what's my balance?” (works with the File Vault).
- Scenarios: “What if we have a second child in 2028?” · “What if the market drops 30% the year I retire?”
Tools inside the chat
The assistant can open and fill nearly every Veru365 tool without you leaving the conversation. These appear as interactive panels in the chat:
| In-chat panel | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fact Finder | Structured intake — family, income sources, goals. The assistant fills fields from your answers; updated fields flash “Updated from chat.” |
| Financial Statements (PFS) | Assets, liabilities, income, and expenses — your personal balance sheet. |
| Financial Plan | Opens your AI-generated plan and its charts mid-conversation. |
| What-If Scenarios | Models a life change and compares it against your baseline plan. |
| Budget | Builds or edits My Personal Budget. |
| Tax Organizer | Collects tax documents and details. |
| File Vault | Upload or reference documents during the conversation. |
| Portfolio | Reviews or edits your stock portfolio holdings. |
| Stock Analysis | Harvey's per-ticker analysis card. |
| EVS Signals & Insider Trades | Live screener results (earnings setups, insider activity) rendered as tables in the chat. |
What the assistant knows about you
The assistant grounds its answers in the data you've given Veru365:
- Your Financial Statements, Fact Finder, budget, and plan data.
- Balances and holdings from Connected Accounts (Plaid), if linked.
- Values extracted from documents in your File Vault.
- If your organization enables AI Memory, durable facts you've shared in past conversations (“my daughter starts college in 2027”) — reviewable and deletable in Settings.
Conversation history & search
- Every conversation is saved in the left sidebar — click any to resume it, or start fresh with new chat.
- Search supports keyword matching, semantic matching (find “college savings” when you typed “529”), or both — result badges show which kind of match you're seeing.
- Delete conversations you no longer want from the sidebar.
Sharing a conversation
You can generate a read-only share link for a conversation — useful for showing your advisor (or spouse) exactly what was discussed. Portfolios and vault files support the same token-based sharing. Anyone with the link sees a view-only copy; they can't continue the chat or edit anything.
The daily usage indicator
Chat shows a small daily usage indicator reflecting your day's AI usage against your organization's budget. Most users never hit the limit; if you do, it resets the next day.
